Will it Last?

The Conservative media is buzzing today about the elections yesterday in Iraq. I’m happy for Iraq that they are now able to select their own leader, rather than being ruled by the guy who has the most guns. I’m skeptical, however that it will last. Turkey, the only “democracy” in the Muslim world, has shown [...]

Do You See Your Calling?

Today’s My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.
Separated unto the Gospel. – Romans 1:1
Our calling is not primarily to be holy men and women, but to be proclaimers of the Gospel of God. The one thing that is all important is that the Gospel of God should be realized as the abiding Reality. Reality [...]

But It Is Hardly Credible That One Could So Persecute Jesus!

Today’s My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.
Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me? – Acts 26:14
Am I set on my own way for God? We are never free from this snare until we are brought into the experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. Obstinacy and self-will will always stab Jesus [...]

Look Again and Think

Today’s My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.
Take no thought for your life. – Matthew 6:25
A warning which needs to be reiterated is that the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things entering in, will choke all that God puts in. We are never free from the [...]

Though I Fly Through the Valley of Death ..I Shall Fear No Evil. For I am at 80,000 Feet and Climbing!
- Sign over the entrance to the old SR-71 operating base Kadena, Japan.
You’ve never been lost until you’ve been [...]

Look Again and Consecrate

Today’s My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.
If God so clothe the grass of the field … shall He not much more clothe you? – Matthew 6:30
A simple statement of Jesus is always a puzzle to us if we are not simple. How are we going to be simple with the simplicity of Jesus? [...]

Jesus and a Bar of Soap

Ron, over at Shanktified!, has this little gem that he posted last week:

Top Ten Reasons I Never Bathe:

I was forced to as a child.
People who bathe are hypocrites – they think they are cleaner than everybody else.
There are so many different kinds of soap, I can’t decide which one is best.
I used to bathe, but [...]

Shazaam!!

I’ve instituted Google’s new rel=”nofollow” attribute for έχω ζωη. Now if spam gets through my filter and Google spiders me before I can delete it, It won’t improve the spammer’s search rating.
It won’t help stop spam right away, but it will take away the incentive to leave spam on blog comments as other bloggers jump [...]

Leave Room for God

Today’s My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers.
But when it pleased God . . . . – Galatians 1:15
As workers for God we have to learn to make room for God- to give God ‘elbow room.’ We calculate and estimate, and say that this and that will happen, and we forget to make room [...]
